MY STORY
Early in my career I wanted to write and perform “cutting edge” rock and pop. Like so many musicians of my generation I wanted to be the “next big thing”. But as I matured and realized that wasn’t a realistic goal for me I discovered the joy of performing popular music for appreciative audiences. Music became less about my ego and more about giving to others.
I’ve never written a Top 10 Billboard hit, but I take great satisfaction in sharing my appreciation for the greatest songs of the Pop and Rock era. When I perform at your venue I bring humility, gratitude and a sense of humor. I have developed a high level of skill on my instrument and the ability to communicate and entertain crowds.
GREATEST COMPLIMENT EVER
Larry Groce, an alum at my college who had a Top 40 hit in the 70s came to one of my band’s shows with his friend, an adjunct professor at the school. The prof told me later Larry said this:
“They should let the guitar player sing more. He’s the only one in the group who understands how to deliver a song.”
I will take that one to my grave!
